Ant Glascoe JR , Chills with Alter Bridge

Hey, Guys just an update, yesterday i got an invite to a extremely private unplugged mini gig in Manchester, with great band Alter Bridge. Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti played like a mothaa, it was great, and just to be chilling with a beer sat on a leather sofa was even better. It was a shame that Slash wasn't there as him and Myles kick ass and make a great team, anyways that's enough of Music lets try and get some pike.

A few chucks down the local, and a pressie from a pike legend

A few quick sessions on one of my local canals, produced some hectic action, especially with the Savage Gear pimped up DP spinner and Alian eel. The slams from these jacks was out of this world, ounce they hit they didn't let go. I had no monsters but pure fun, then on my return the post man dropped me a parcel, and to my surprise it was a pressie from Pike Legend Eddie Turner, he used one of my pics for his new 2011 pike calender, and to top it off my pic is in April, my birthday. The rest of the calender is full of great shots, from scenic to action with Eddie holding a jalopy, get yours while stocks last.

High Interests for new Pike DVD, at GAC weekend.

GAC Weekend went very well guys, many thanks for the invite its was great to be back . The Savage Gear stand had lots of interest, and i was quite busy throughout the whole weekend, giving rig demos, and even signing a few DVDS for happy customers and Predator fanatics. I was very surprised how many customers was interested in the new Pike DVD with me and Hywel Morgan due out soon i could of at least sold 50 copies, even Paul young cant wait for the release. Another surprise for me was how many sea anglers spotted my Bass clips on YouTube, and even some sea anglers demanded a lure feature for the bass on some of my recent adventures.
On the Saturday Paul Young gave me a gift that another chap had made for him, he handed a Tartan Toby Lure into my hand and said here Ant You Will get to use this more than me, i was gobbed smacked, many thanks Paul, and to the kind chap who made this great Tartan Toby. Role on for the next GAC show, i cant wait, that's if i get invited again.

Yea ama here in the North Regions Hunting Bass, prob for the 25th year in a row. Each year Late Aug early Sept, me and the oldman target the bass mostley on lures. We have our Orkney 440 situated down here, but due to servere bad storms we are only able to fish from the shore marks that in the past have produced some stonking bass, with specimans to over the magical 10lb mark, so its not always the option the have a boat.

We arrived on the Wed evening after a 3 hour drive form Manchester, the weather was quite bad, and we knew we had to leave the boat alone and fish some of the local bass marks from the shore. On the Thurs morning we headed to one of our bass shore marks, a well known beach for producing big bass. The surf was perfect, if you have neva tried lure plugging for bass in the surf i suggest you try it, its great fun. Bass will hunt in less than 3ft of water and can be under your feet sniffing sand eels out, the 3rd breaker is the most strongest, so thats where all the goodies get churrned up, and thats where the bass will feed. Anyways on my first chuck, with a Savage Gear Prey i smashed a decent bass of around 4lb, then my oldman was into a decent bass too. They went crazy, they was smashing sand eels left right and center, there was heads, and scales flying all over the place, they was feeding hard. Bass wil flank the lure to try and stun it, as they do to prey fish sand eels, white bait etc, flanking means they use the side of there gill plate to stun the prey, then they will turn round and pick the injured fish off. What i tend to do, once i feel a bang on the lure, i leave it suspended for a split seacond then continue to wind as normal. Also very abnormal winds can put bass on the shore, i tend to wind very fast, faster than i would when pike fishing.

We must of hit the tide just right, it was 6pm and i was into our 18th bass between us, , again another bass of 4lb infact we never seen a bass under4lb it was crazy. With the session drawing to an end, my dad hit a monster then pulled free. Then he made another cast in the same area just over the 3rd breaker in the white wash, and BANG,, he was in again, it gave him a great battle, it was a beauty of 7lb 12oz, now thats quite a size from the shore especially on a lure in 3ft of water. The bass just kept on smashing our lures, our arms was killing, but what great fun. Over the 2 days we had well over 30 bass, between 4lb and 8lb all catch and release, which i think is important as Bass are very slow growers. I am here for another week so i will keep yall up dated,

Look out for the underwater footage teaser on youtube (ant glascoe jr, bad ass bass)
by for now,

Moran Taing, Many Thanks
